I had the rare opportunity the other day to get out of my own gallery and visit a few of my fellow galleries on 11th Avenue. I was thrilled to see such great shows every where I went and I also noticed some interesting connections between the works shown at Jarvis Hall Fine Art, Paul Kuhn Gallery, Newzones Gallery and Herringer Kiss Gallery.

At Jarvis Hall, I saw the colourful abstract landscapes by Herald Nix which echoed the flat planes of colour in the playful abstractions by Ashleigh Bartlett at the Paul Kuhn Gallery. At Newzones Gallery, the work Brad Harms is getting more involved in the optics of colour which ties in well with our very own exhibition of work by Angela Leach.

It’s a great time to walk the strip and visit the top galleries in the city. These shows should not be missed!
